Biking along Ribera de Duero

Imagine combining the benefits of sports, the sceneries of nature and the flavour of one of the best wines in Spain. all this and much more in the next select programme thought especially for the most discerning travellers & palates.

Day 1 – welcome to Madrid

Transfer to aranda de duero, burgos (2h by motorway). Check in and dinner at hotel

Day 2 – discovering aranda de duero and its wineries

Morning:
The travellers vist  a traditional winery and will enjoy with a tasting and lunch there: the visually stunning architecture of this winery and the facilities it offers guarantee the quality and long ageing potential of the wines. but even with best grape variety and the most advanced winery one other factor is still required to help realise the fullest potential of the estate. its tasting note on the nose is intense and pure with some balsamic character. rich and complex it is rounded and smooth with a finish that reminds of almonds. finally, soft and balanced on the long finish.

Afternoon:
Visit a distinguished winery and its vineyard: its highlights are the soil, the vineyards, the grapes, the spirit and the care with which this winery produces the best wines. it is on the castilian meseta, 800 metres above sea level, with extreme climate changes, in one of the most distinguished and famous denominations of origin in the world – ribera del duero. the vineyard surrounds our winery, on one plot of 104 hectares. a very privileged zone, formed from river deposits, covered with rounded pebbles which retain both heat and humidity. this mix of rich soil and pebbles help the fruit mature and add special characteristics to the aroma and color. Overnight at hotel.

Day 3 – biking in Peñafiel

Transfer to peñafiel (50 minutes by motorway);  biking activity: the bikes and the instructors will be ready early in the morning to start the activity.  Visit to the wine museum in peñafiel, located in its magnificent castle in, which is now home of the wine museum museo provincial del vino. the museum shows all the aspects of the culture of wine, from the vineyard to the glass, including all the aspects of wine making, wine and gastronomy, wine tasting, etc.  Lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, they can continue by bike over the surroundings of  peñafiel. Check in and dinner at hotel

Day 4 – wine-growing visit in valladolid

Transfer to this  significant  wine cellars in Valladolid (30 min by motorway). The winery is located near the duero river and is considered a landmark on the historic route that links two of the great cities of castile: Valladolid and Soria. built in traditional style with its towers, arches and bell tower it invites the visitor to explore further and discover the wine held below in the magnificent cellars where tastings are regularly held. they focus on limited outcomes, related to the lack of fertility of the land and the harsh castilian weather. The great quality of their grapes, inexcusable premise for good wine, together with the cares of the vineyard and the passion in the job make these wines one of the most prestigious of the d.o Ribera del Duero.  The customers will enjoy all this area on their bikes. Lunch at arzuaga restaurant. Transfer to Madrid (2hours 30min by motorway). Check in at hotel and leisure time.

Day 5 – Farewell
